Heiko
Laux' return to Joris
Voorn's Rejected hits
the Beatport Techno Top 10
Heiko
Laux was one of the very first
artists to grace the Rejected
catalogue with his double-header "Mirabella
/ Zeitluke"
back in 2008. Renowned for his
emotional and powerful
productions, Heiko is also the
owner and driving force behind the
legendary German imprint, Kanzleramt.
The success of Heiko and his label
is the result of an incredible
level of musical consistency and
it is this quality that has kept
both at the forefront of modern
electronic music since 1994. 2011
has seen Laux in imperiously
productive form and whilst his
techno persona has shone on the
likes of Soma,
Truesoul
and of course Kanzleramt,
we have also seen him heading into
deeper and slower territory on
releases such as "Can't
Unspill The Milk"
his co-production with Teo
Schulte
on Suol.
Teaming up with Teo once again and
returning to Rejected for the
first time since 004, Heiko
presents a stunning trio of mixes
of, "Polyrhythm."

Offshore
Funk: Cinematique
Heiko
Laux created the first sketch of
“Cinematique” with some piano
notes in it and he passed it on to
his Offshore
Funk partner
Teo
Schulte.
He had the idea to have his friend
Bene
Aperdannier,
one of the best jazz-pianists in
Berlin, play the piano on it. This
later formed the lovely intro of
the “Cinematique” original.
A similar but piano-less sketch of
“Cinematique” was passed on to Peter
Horrevorts.
Peter added his own typical juicy
and dynamic style to the track
before sending it back to Heikoʼs
studio, where the Cinematiqueʼs
original version was put together
by Heiko and Teo.
After hearing “Cinematique” on one
of their burger sessions at
Heikoʼs, Chopstick
& Johnjon
had a clear picture for remix and
so the three of them started a
session right away. As they played
the Cinematique remix back at
their own studio Fritz
Zander
heard the piano through the door
and he immediately wanted in on
the project. Fritz and his
Zander VT partner
Sven von Thulen
were given the whole
remix-arrangement of the three and
so Zander VT went on shaping the
mix further, ́til in a final
session with their
studio-neighbours Chopstick &
Johnjon the “Cinematique Remix”
got the final touches.
So at the end Kanzleramtʼs last
gem for 2011 has got 4 songwriters
and 5 remixers.

Heiko
Laux remixes of Zander VT
Zander
VT’s original 44 Less came out on
BPitch Control’s sub-label MEMO in
July 2006. The theme was that
sticky to Heiko, that it finally
inspired him to do play with the
original sequences and give them a
kick-drum, so he could play it out
better in his sets. This all ended
after years into this release with
remixes by Heiko Laux and by
Diego.
One more thing to mention: this
release would have probably never
seen the light of day without a
facebook user, who heard the 44
Less (hlx Dry Dub) in a DJ-set of
Heiko and wanted to buy the mix.
So talks between Heiko Laux, Fritz
Zander, Sven von Thülen and Ellen
Allien on behalf on BPitch Control
began what to do with the remixes.
At the end he complained on
facebook as long as it took to
finally get his release out.
We say: tenacity wins ;)
